CEWE PHOTOBOOK is a printed product from your personal photos, which proudly bears the title "most popular photo book in Europe". After several years of producing your beautiful photo books, we decided that it would be a shame to keep our joint creations to ourselves. We decided to appreciate the authors of the most successful books.

Create a project that allows the authors themselves to share their story with others. And that is the cornerstone of the whole competition. For years, we have been creating a huge online gallery of competition books to inspire you with the true stories of our customers. This competition was created in 2010 in a record short time. From the very first idea that came in January 2010 to the creation of the competition platform, business strategy, communication mix to the sharp launch of the competition, only 5 months passed.

Historically, the first winner of this competition was Irena Plechšmídová, who with her photo book "School Year 2009/2010" won a trip worth CZK 100,000. Even then, Mrs. Irena had strong competition, a total of 1,908 books were submitted in the competition. The second winner of the tour and the author of the winning book was Mr. Zbyněk Šanc, who enchanted the jury with landscape photographs of northeastern Bohemia. Since 2012, we have teamed up with Peugeot and Federal Cars to donate a beautiful new Peugeot to each year's winners.

The first owner of the new vehicle was Jakub Laušmann, thanks to his holiday photo book in Egypt. In 2013, a jury's elaborate photo book with the Kastner family tree shook the jury. Mr. Zdeněk Kastner became its author and at the same time another winner. The following year, Mr. Boris Pazdera received the keys to another car, who won the jury with his book "La bella Italia". Also in 2015, the entire competition was dominated by a travel book, this time about India, and its author was Mrs. Jitka Sýkorová. And the following year, the winner, Mr. Zdeněk Jedlička, left in a new car together with his photo book about Scotland.

The modest Mr. Milan Kutina became the 8th winner of our popular CEWE PHOTOBOOK of the Year Awards. He managed to win from a total of 2,151 registered photo books in the competition. And what book won a beautiful glass trophy and a new Peugeot 308 for Mr. Kutina? It was a book compiled on the occasion of his father's 60th birthday, about his whole life. Mr. Kutina decided to give his father something material and permanent. Something he could return to. And so, he collected his current photos, photos of children and grandchildren, as well as photos of his father's youth, diaries, postcards, report cards and various documents. And in the end, everything worked out well and this beautiful book won him a car hecan keep forever.

And what would Mr. Kutina say to all the authors of CEWE PHOTOBOOK?

"I probably don't have a recipe for how to win but I definitely do have an advice for people who hesitate like me. It also took me an awful long time to convince myself to enter the competition and create my own CEWE PHOTOBOOK at all. So, if you're like me, go for it! Create a book for yourself or as a gift for parents. And if you succeed, enter the book in the competition and maybe you'll experience some exciting months just like me."

The competition doesn’t end for sure! 2,151 submitted books, 11,140 votes, 32 finalists, 18 jurors and prizes for more than CZK 1,500,000 - these are the statistics of the last year, which propels us every year and motivates us to prepare for the next years of the competition and other beautiful numbers at the same time.
